Day 1

  • Taking on the role of 'stalker'
  • Taking advantage of backstage access as part of the Fashion Scout Team
  • Taking my eye to the streets, shops, and shows
  • Taking a 'Rose Tinted Vision'

Dover Street Market

To contextualise the forthcoming AW15 collections, I dove into Dover Street market to make comparisons with the SS15 collections. The entrance confronted one with scientific preservation jars, whilst hidden in the basement a fururistic Plastic Craig green monster lurked. Other collections, also seemed to be promoting preservation, and negative monstrous elements of the plastic future such as Luna Lumelsky with her organic folklore installation. Yet again, designers this season seem to be calling for a slowing of Fast-Fashion.

London Fashion Week - Fashion Scout

Indeed, backstage at the Jao Mello Costa show showed evidence of stress, with frowns turned stone, while the only thing that seemed to move was the stressed body smell... Nonetheless, the end came together as always with gratification, and sophistication in style of the collection.

People of the Day

The Unfashionables -
In preparation for LFW the streets were empty and colourless of fashion, inspiring the thought 'How many people do actually care?'. Therefore, I thought it would be interesting to juxtapose the unfashionable onto the fashionable catwalk, to perhaps display the futility of it to some people.
